Jujitsu: Jordan Triumphs
Coming first in this sport after three days of competition is team Jordan which won four gold, three silver and five bronze medals. Runners-up including United Arab Emirates (UAE), Thailand and Mongolia.
On the final competition day, two Vietnamese martial artists failed to deliver their best performance at the weight-free resistance event when being beaten at the qualifying round by Thailand’s Senatham Opara and Mongolia’s Battsogt Buyanddelger.
Martial artist Battsogt Buyandelger later triumphed, bringing a gold to Mongolia after crushing Alqubaj Luma Hatem Sharif from Jordan in the final match.
In the men’s final match of weight-free category between martial artists from UAE, Alketbi Faisal lost 0-14 to Alhammadi Yahya.
Concluding the Jujitsu competition, Vietnam earned 10 medals: one gold, three silver and six bronze medals, ranking sixth out of 11 participating countries.
At the end of the Kabaddi competition at the 5th Asian Beach Games (ABG5), two gold medals in men’s and women’s events went to India and Pakistan.
In women’s event, India beat Sri Lanka 39-23 and march to the final match.
In the final match, India and Thailand competed fiercely. Thanks to better muscular strength and strategy, Indian female competitors bagged a gold with 41-31 score.
In the men’s final match between India and Pakistan, the two teams fought closelyagainst each other. In the end, Pakistan defeated India 30-28 and pocketed gold.
To sum up, India led the tally with one gold and one silver medal. Pakistan ranked second with one gold while Thailand came third with one silver. The Republic of Korea and Sri Lanka shared the fourth spot with two bronze medals.
