Friday, May 6, 2016 - Hanoi, Vietnam, May 5, 2016: As preparations intensify for the OCA’s 5th Asian Beach Games in Danang, Vietnam, in September, the Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television, Mr Pham Viet Tien, had a meeting with Mr Le Khanh Hai, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism and Chairman of the Organising Committee, at the Vietnam Sports Administration HQ in Hanoi on April 29.
Leaders and representatives of various sub-committees, the Operations Centre and host broadcaster Vietnam TV also attended the meeting. Deputy Minister Le appreciated the recent development of VTV as well as the close cooperation between VTV and the Ministry in general and sports sector in particular.
He stressed that, with the huge investment in broadcasting equipment and technology, VTV has the capacity and capability to produce and broadcast all aspects of the Asian Beach Games to meet the demands of OCA and of other countries in Asia and the world.
The Deputy Minister also requested the sub-committees to coordinate closely with the relevant units of VTV in order to set up detailed plans for each event and sport, particularly in regards to transmission and the IT system. Mr Pham stressed the total commitment of VTV to prepare all equipment, human resources and the technical aspects of recording, live broadcasting and other work.
VTV is expected to broadcast live the opening ceremony on September 24, the closing ceremony on October 3 and four or five sports. The other events and sports will be transmitted to the International Broadcast Centre to meet the demands of the international television market as well as the requirements of the OCA.
