The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has presented a meaningful gift in recognition of the contribution of coach Miura Toshiya to Vietnam football for almost two years.
On February 4, Miura met with and said goodbye to the top officials of the Vietnam sports sector at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Hanoi.

Deputy Minister Le Khanh Hai and the head of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training Vuong Bich Thang, on behalf of the Ministry of Sports, Tourism and Culture, awarded a medal to coach Miura, in recognition of his contribution to the country's football for almost two years.

The Japanese coach is leaving Vietnam on February 7. The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) will pay compensation worth two months of salary to the coach.

Although the VFF terminated his contract before the deadline, the coach was glad to attend the year-end party of the Vietnam Football Federation on January 29.

Recently it was rumored that the Japanese coach will work as the technical director for Quang Ninh Coal FC. However, the team has denied this and confirmed trust of the current coach Pham Nhu Thuan.

"I hope to have the opportunity to return to Vietnam and to see the Olympic Vietnam at the Olympics. The Vietnam national team will play successfully at the top tournaments of Asia and the world," coach Miura said.

In related news, coach Le Huynh Duc has refused the Vietnam Football Federation’s invitation to replace Miura.

The three remaining candidates for the post are Nguyen Huu Thang, Hoang Anh Tuan and Mai Duc Chung.

Song Lam Nghe An FC of Nguyen Huu Thang said they allowed Thang to work as their technical director and the coach of the national team.

Chairman of the National Coaching Council Nguyen Si Hien said that in case Thang and Tuan refused the VFF’s invitation to lead the national team, Chung will temporarily coach the team at the two remaining matches of the World Cup 2018 qualifying round against Taiwan on March 24 in Hanoi and Iraq on March 29.

Hien said if the VFF cannot recruit a domestic coach, the federation would find a foreign coach.
